Anne Tolpegin as (u/s) Margaret White, Molly Ranson, Christy Altomare, Carmen Cusack, Jenanna De Waal, Derek Klena, Ben Thompson. Terrific capture, one of my favorite shows. Marin was more of a Barbara Cook portrayal, Anne was more of a Betty Buckley. Rare performance as Anne only went on a handful of times.

Alice Ripley, Keaton Whittaker, Kendra Kassebaum, Larissa Schmitz, Kody Bringman, Tessa Archer. Beautiful HD capture of one of the final dress rehearsals. Top notch production and thrilling performances from Alice and Keaton, and the whole cast! This is quite a unique capture since it was the first time the blood was actually dropped. Based on the revised Off-Broadway version, and presented at the Balagan Theatre. Here are a few cool things that happen in this video: 1) After “Evening Prayers” there is a hold to change all microphone batteries, resulting in most of the song being run a second time (the sound check was removed and put as a bonus at the end of act two). 2) During the scene where Carrie is getting ready for the prom a microphone made a "farting" noise and Alice grabbed her butt and said "sorry" which made the cast and tech crew laugh. 3) The first attempt at dumping the blood on Carrie didn’t work, for the second attempt, it got into Keaton’s eyes, which resulted in Louis Hobson (the show’s director and Alice’s Next To Normal co-star) to come up on stage. 4) Alice didn’t have the rubber prop knife for the end, she had a real knife so she mocked stabbing Carrie

An excellent capture of this production at La Jolla Playhouse. A phenomenal cast in this adaptation of the movie. The first minute or so of act one is blacked out, and there are a few quick drop-outs throughout the show, but nothing major. There are some heads at the bottom, but no major obstructions. There's also a bit of washout in some of the wides. Filmed with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is a little quiet during the dialogue scenes, but very nice overall. A

The quality is fine and the sound is great, but the camera wonders around the top of the stage a lot, since it is filmed from the highest section, the Upper Circle.

Saving Aimee ( Became Scandalous)
Seattle 10/05/2011
Carolee Carmello, Judy Kaye, Roz Ryan, Ed Dixon, Ed Watts, Brandon O'Neill, Charles Leggett.
Book, music and lyrics by Kathy Lee Gifford (with additional music by David Pomeranz and David Friedman). "Saving Aimee" is based on the true story of Aimee Semple McPherson, "the most famous person you have never heard of." A female evangelist who arrived in Hollywood and befriended stars of the stage and screen, including Charlie Chaplin, Aimee became a true media celebrity during the 1920s and 30s. Hollywood gave her access to the some of the world's most creative set and costume designers as well as actors, access Aimee used to spread her religious ideas with showbiz style. Sometimes seduced by power and men, Aimee laid the foundation for a religious empire that included a then state-of-the-art radio station from which she could broadcast her message. In 1926 she was put on trial for faking her own kidnapping, when she was in fact having an affair with a married man”. Very nicely filmed from the balcony with no obstructions, 2 dvds, A

Great cast and great show. The show runs 130 minutes due to camera power. Suzie hits the high notes in NOMTW and Zoe's Defying Gravity is amazing. This is also the closing Matinee performance for Wicked Singapore. Shot from the right hand side with no heads in the way and no obstructions. Crystal clear picture and clear audio. A+

London, 10-18-2007
CUDELIN PROSSER'S EDIT of the already-circulating vid of 10-18-07, with Kerry Ellis as Elphaba, Dianne Pilkington as Glinda, Nigel Planer as The Wizard, Susie Blake as Madame Morrible and Oliver Tompsett as Fiyero -- IMO, the best cast of any Wicked capture.
Custom DVD menus and lots of work done on the source. Cudelin's additions/modifications: the opening credits over a video montage of the theatre and of the principals backstage before curtain; sound adjusted for greater clarity, with audio replacement (from audio captures of the same cast) for the lost lines in the original capture's "What is this Feeling" and almost all of the "rustling"; the color has been re-greenifed on "DG"; cast credits are superimposed during curtain calls. If that's not enough, the entire production has been subtitled (so us Yanks have no difficulty with the very Brit accents)! Best DVD I own. A+

Cast: Mamie Parris (Elphaba), Amanda Jane Cooper (Glinda), Colin Hanlon (Fiyero), Stefanie Brown (Nessarose), Alma Cuervo (Madame Morrible), Mark Jacoby (Boq), Paul Slade Smith (Dr.Dillamond).
Masters notes: Beautiful capture of Mamie's fabulous turn as Elphaba. Everything is nicely captured and performed. Alma still gives a great Morrible as does Stefanie as Nessa. A.
